Halloween Treat

On Halloween, I became an uncle for the third time. William David-Tyler White was born at 7:03 p.m. at Swedish Hospital, and weighed in at 6 lbs, 4 oz. He is the first child of my brother John and his wife Kathryn. Will was five weeks early from his December due date, but he and his mom are doing quite well.

Due to the H1N1 pandemic, visitation to see Will is limited strictly to parents and grandparents. And at the time, I was one of only two relative in the state, but that didn’t stop my remaining family members from seeing pictures of our newest babe. My brother decided to use Facebook to host the up-to-date information about everyone’s health and photos of the new guy. This prompted my 64 year-old father to become interested in joining the site.

Now, my dad is somewhat of a tech-savvy guy, he can operate his Blackberry without much trouble. But the concept of Facebook was completely foreign to him. It was trying to teach him English for the first time. I’m eager to see what mischief happens now.
